Palhaça is a civil parish in the municipality of Oliveira do Bairro, Portugal.
Its village is located in the extreme northwest of the Municipality of Oliveira do Bairro, to which it currently belongs, 11 kilometers from the city that is the seat of the Municipality; it rests on a kind of small plateau, very fertile from the agricultural point of view, to which it rises by all the access roads, except for the south which makes it communicate immediately with the center of Bairrada.
It is 15 kilometers from Aveiro, seat of the district, diocese and comarca, and 45 kilometers from Coimbra with which it is more than once a day in communication.
In addition to the good road that crosses it from north to south, bringing into contact the two cities indicated, another cuts it in the east-west direction, connecting the beautiful city of Águeda, on the slopes of Caramulo, to the riverside village of Vagos.
Separating the parish of Palhaça from that of Nariz, but on the side of Vila Nova, extends a delightful depression, full of color that we call Vale do Ribeirinho.
To the sides of Oiã, between Vila Nova and the pine forests of Águas-Boas, the Adioga and Canas (Balcanas) Valleys extend. To the west, between Palhaça and Carregosa, extend the Barros, planted the vineyard, and the Gandra das Masseiras.
The parish of Palhaça has as its patron saint S. Pedro and it includes the following places: Palhaça, Vila Nova, Pedreira (part of the parish of Oiã), Carregais, Chousa, Fonte de bebe e vai-te (Fonte da Baita), Roque (part of the parish of Nariz), Val do Rato, Rebolo, Arieiro, Albergue, Tojeira.
